Volunteers are the heart of the Trail Team Challenge, the entire event is run 100% by volunteer power. We couldn’t do this without you! So, what exactly does a volunteer do? Our volunteers are not only on site for the entire event but help plan and prepare for the event in the months leading up to the challenge, and must complete the Tread Lightly 101 course before the event. Volunteers are self-sufficient for the entire weekend except for a group kick off dinner Friday night. Tent camping is free at Mutual Mine and there is a minimal fee for trailer / RV camping at Holder Mine, each just a 5-minute drive from one another. We have 3 types of volunteers – General, Medical and Media. Medical and Media volunteers are constantly on the move during the challenges and could be considered “on call” for the evening hours. General volunteers run the challenges, assist with check in and breakdown, are responsible for safety and scoring, and have such a great time while doing it. You will meet new off-road enthusiasts of all ages, driving all types of off-road vehicles, you’ll learn ways of thinking outside of the box, you’ll have fun and be excited for the next event! More than 80% of our volunteers return every year! Do you need to be an expert at anything to volunteer? Absolutely not, everything you need to run a challenge will be provided for you and we will be sure that you are 100% prepared for the weekend via monthly training calls. The calls will be announced as soon as possible.
Both new and returning volunteers should sign up through the form below. All volunteers should have an active Facebook Account as 100% of our volunteer information is distributed on a private volunteer Facebook page you will be invited to. Once you have completed your paperwork and TreadLightly 101 course you will be invited to our Facebook group to ensure confidentiality of the challenges and information. The first 30 people to register as volunteers will receive an extra raffle ticket for some awesome sponsored prizes!
