The Trail Team Challenge was founded by Director Marc Lawson after competing in multiple off-roading competitions throughout the United States. Marc wanted to bring a similar event back home to Florida with him, but with a Florida twist. The Trail Team Challenge was born in 2018 with the help of a few friends and family members. It has grown to over 8 staff, 100 volunteers and over 150 sponsors. FTTC aims to promote the conservation of our private and public lands for continued recreational use by partnering with Tread Lightly. The Trail Team Challenge has a Master Trainer, multiple Tread Lightly Tread Trainers, hundreds of Tread Lightly 101 certificate holders, and requires participants to follow the Tread Lightly principles while competing.
